With a newly opened office and continued growth, the firm is looking for someone who can take on greater responsibility and develop towards a future Accounts Manager position.
You will take ownership of a varied portfolio, including groups, with responsibility for reviewing work, handling more complex accounts and working closely with clients.
The role provides the opportunity to develop your management and advisory skills while working closely with Managers and Partners.
Accounts Assistant Manager - About The Role
The role offers a natural step up from a Senior position, with greater responsibility for your portfolio, the wider team and client relationships.
You will oversee and review work completed by junior team members, deal with more complex accounts and support the delivery of assignments from start to finish.
As you develop, you will take on increasing responsibility for managing clients, reviewing work and supporting the team, with the aim of progressing into an Accounts Manager position.
Key responsibilities
- Managing a varied portfolio of clients, including groups
- Reviewing statutory accounts and working papers prepared by the team
- Reviewing more complex accounts under FRS 102
- Reviewing draft corporation tax computations
- Supervising, supporting and developing junior members of the team
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients
- Advising clients on accounting matters and supporting their wider requirements
- Managing assignment deadlines, budgets and workflow
- Working closely with Managers and Partners on complex assignments
- Taking on increasing responsibility for the team and client portfolio as you develop
The successful Accounts Assistant Manager will have
- ACA or ACCA qualified, or nearing qualification
- Strong UK accountancy practice experience
- Experience reviewing accounts and working papers
- Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102
- Experience managing or overseeing a portfolio of clients
- Experience reviewing corporation tax computations
- Exposure to group accounts would be advantageous
- Experience with deferred tax would be beneficial
- Strong client relationship and communication skills
- Experience supervising, supporting or developing junior team members
- Confident using CCH or similar accountancy software
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines
- A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership
