About The Role

Are you an enthusiastic Solicitor who enjoys variety in their day-to-day work? Then this opportunity to join our Property Litigation team in Cambridge could be the perfect role for you. We are looking for applications from NQ solicitors or solicitors with up to 4 years’ PQE. The successful candidate will have experience of housing management‑related work, including residential landlord and tenant matters, and an interest in advising clients on the practical and legal issues arising from the management of housing.

Here in the Property Litigation team, we act for a broad range of clients including private individuals, landlords, tenants, and larger organisations, advising on contentious residential and mixed‑use property matters, with a particular focus on disputes arising from the occupation, use and management of housing. Below is just some of the types of work you can expect to be involved in:

  • Adverse possession claims
  • Interpretation and enforceability of restrictive covenants
  • Advising on private nuisance and trespass, including neighbour and occupier disputes
  • Dilapidations and property condition issues
  • Advising transactional colleagues on complex property issues arising in residential and housing‑related matters

A little about you

  • Ability to deal with straightforward matters, including unfamiliar tasks which present a range of problem
  • Uses own judgement but may require supervision at varying levels depending on complexity
  • Identifies the legal principles relevant to housing and property disputes and applies them appropriately
  • Uses experience to test and verify information provided by clients
