We are seeking an ambitious and proactive Legal Cashier to join our close-knit, friendly accounts team in Norwich. This role is a full-time office-based role but we do understand that flexibility is essential for a good work-life balance.

Some of the duties will include:

  • Reconciliation of the firms bank accounts on a daily basis;
  • Dealing with incoming monies via Internet Banking; ensuring funds are investigated and allocated promptly in accordance with the Firm’s policies;
  • Dealing with payments out of the firm’s accounts by either electronic payment or cheque payment, in accordance with the firm’s policies, and in line with the SARs;
  • Checking and Processing bills;
  • Checking client balances and working with fee earners to clear following completion, ensuring balances are returned promptly;
  • Transferring costs and disbursements;
  • Liaising with clients by phone to take card payments;
  • Providing support to fee-earners/secretaries on all financial matters and assisting with queries as they arise either by email, phone or zoom;
  • Reporting any breaches promptly to the Senior Accounts Manager and ensuring they are remedied upon discovery;
  • Ensuring all incoming cheques received are logged, and postings requested where required;
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties, as requested.

  • Knowledge of client accounting system including reconciliation to bank accounts;
  • Desirable to have knowledge of SRA rules and regulations relating to client accounts;
  • Calm under pressure, team player, flexible and adaptable to changing demands in workload;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Motivated, pro-active and highly organised, with good attention to detail;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Friendly, confident, polite, customer service orientated.
