The Opportunity:
As Director of Construction & Procurement Law, you will take the lead in driving and growing a well-regarded London-based team specialising in construction disputes and public procurement matters. The team advises contractors, subcontractors, public bodies, and private sector organisations on a broad range of complex construction and engineering issues. You’ll be instrumental in strengthening the team’s market position and enhancing its reputation for delivering commercially focused, results-driven advice.
Your Role:
- Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing construction and procurement team
- Oversee complex litigation, dispute resolution and advisory mandates
- Drive strategic growth initiatives and expand the firm’s footprint in the sector
- Play a key role in wider firm strategy and leadership planning
- Maintain exceptional service delivery aligned with industry best practice
You will also advise on:
- Contentious and non-contentious construction and procurement matters
- Managing disputes through mediation, adjudication, arbitration, ADR and court proceedings
- Drafting and negotiating construction contracts
- Advising on dispute avoidance and contract management strategies
- Claims analysis, negotiation and risk mitigation
You will bring:
- A minimum of 10 years PQE experience or experience in a relevant role with strong expertise in construction and procurement law
- Extensive experience handling complex, high-value disputes
- A proven ability to lead, mentor and grow a successful legal team
- Strong commercial awareness and an established client following or referrer network
- Strategic thinking, sound judgement and excellent communication skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
