As a Desktop Supervisor, working for a main contractor within the Social Housing Sector you will oversee the daily operations of the operatives to ensure efficient and effective resolution of the day-to-day reactive maintenance. You will play a crucial role in supervising activities along with daily whip allocations and SOR code efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and conduct regular team meetings.
- Develop and implement desktop management policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and support of systems.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technologies.
- Prepare and present reports on team performance.
- Review and manage responsive repairs and voids jobs via the Dynamics system from job creation to completion.
- Technically assess reported repairs to ensure correct scope, trade, priority, and M3NHF 7.2 SOR codes.
- Challenge incorrect diagnostics, over-specification, or non-compliant job requests.
- Ensure all jobs meet social housing repair standards and specifications.
- Apply and validate works in accordance with M3NHF Schedule of Rates v7.2.
- Identify and manage variations with clear justification and approval.
- Ensure completed works are supported by appropriate evidence.
- Carry out desktop quality checks to reduce recalls and complaints.
- Act as desktop liaison between operatives, supervisors, schedulers, and management.
- Provide technical and commercial guidance to teams.
- Support schedulers with sequencing and trade allocation.
- Assist with resolution of access and customer issues.
- Maintain accurate and auditable records in Dynamics.
- Ensure job statuses, notes, and costs are up to date.
- Support continuous improvement of systems and processes.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience in social housing repairs and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of M3NHF Schedule of Rates (v7.2 preferred).
- Experience using Dynamics or similar systems.
- Good technical understanding across multiple trades.
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Experience working on social housing contracts.
- Previous supervisory or senior administrative experience.
- Understanding of responsive repairs and voids processes.
