We are currently seeking an experienced Multi Trader to join a well-established maintenance team, carrying out reactive and planned repairs within occupied social housing properties across Bromley and the surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled carpenter and plasterer multi trader, with strong experience carrying out general maintenance and repairs within domestic properties. This is a varied role where you'll be responsible for completing high-quality repairs and making-good works, helping to ensure residents' homes are safe, well-maintained and kept to a high standard.

The role is field-based, covering Bromley and nearby areas, so you'll need to be comfortable travelling between properties throughout the working day.

The Role

As a Multi Trader, you'll be responsible for carrying out a wide range of reactive repairs and maintenance works within occupied and void social housing properties. Typical duties will include:

  • Carrying out carpentry and joinery repairs
  • Repairing and replacing doors, frames, skirting boards and architraves
  • Completing first and second-fix carpentry works
  • Carrying out patch plastering and making-good works
  • Repairing damaged walls and ceilings
  • Plaster boarding and carrying out general plaster repairs
  • Completing painting and decorating following repair works
  • Carrying out minor plumbing repairs where required
  • Completing minor tiling and general maintenance works
  • Repairing and replacing fixtures, fittings and ironmongery
  • Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently
  • Carrying out a range of responsive repairs within residents' homes
  • Completing general multi-trade maintenance works as required
  • Maintaining excellent customer service when working in residents' properties
  • Using a PDA or job management system to receive and update works completed

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced Multi Trader who has a strong background in carpentry and plastering and is confident carrying out a range of general maintenance repairs. You will have:

  • Strong carpentry and joinery skills
  • Strong plastering and making-good skills
  • Previous experience working within social housing, maintenance or repairs environments
  • Experience carrying out reactive repairs within occupied properties
  • Good general multi-trade maintenance knowledge
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • A professional and customer-focused approach when dealing with residents
  • Good time management and the ability to prioritise workloads
  • A flexible approach and willingness to undertake a variety of maintenance tasks

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Proven experience as a Multi Trader, with strong carpentry and plastering skills
  • Experience working within domestic or social housing properties
  • Ability to travel across Bromley and surrounding areas
  • Comfortable using handheld devices or PDAs
  • Eligible to work in the UK (proof required)
  • DBS check, or willingness to undertake one if required
