Our client is a well established and growing property maintenance contractor delivering reactive maintenance and planned works across the social housing sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Roofing Manager to lead and develop their roofing division.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced roofing professional with strong operational and commercial experience to oversee both reactive repairs and planned roofing projects, managing directly employed operatives, specialist subcontractors and scaffolding contractors while ensuring exceptional standards of quality, safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the day-to-day operation of the in-house roofing division, ensuring all reactive maintenance and planned roofing works are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
  • Leading, motivating and supporting directly employed roofing operatives while managing specialist roofing and scaffolding subcontractors.
  • Planning and programming works to maximise productivity, customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Carrying out regular site inspections, quality audits and performance reviews to ensure works are completed to the highest standards.
  • Pricing, validating and managing works using Schedule of Rates (SOR), with NHF Schedule of Rates experience highly desirable.
  • Preparing quotations and cost estimates for additional and non-SOR works while monitoring project costs, profitability and budgets.
  • Reviewing specifications, drawings and client requirements to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Procuring materials, managing supplier performance and ensuring projects remain commercially viable.
  • Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, CDM Regulations and company procedures, including the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, Contract Managers, Surveyors, Residents and internal teams.
  • Monitoring KPIs, service delivery, quality standards and customer satisfaction while resolving technical issues and customer complaints.
  • Recruiting, mentoring and developing roofing operatives and identifying opportunities to grow and improve the roofing division.
Essential Experience
  • Proven experience managing roofing contracts within the social housing or property maintenance sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of pitched roofing, flat roofing and associated roofing systems.
  • Experience managing directly employed roofing operatives and specialist subcontractors.
  • Strong understanding of Schedule of Rates (SOR) coding and pricing, with NHF experience preferred.
  • Commercially aware with experience managing project budgets, costs and profitability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and job management systems.
