In partnership with Cardiff and Vale College, we’re excited to offer an opportunity for a Legal Apprentice to join our team. This role is ideal for someone eager to gain practical experience in a professional legal environment while working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration.
As a Legal Apprentice, you’ll play a key role in supporting the team with document preparation, administrative tasks, and client communications. This hands-on experience will give you valuable insight into the legal sector and help build a strong foundation for your future career.
What you\’ll be doing:
- Carry out routine administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, printing, and filing documents.
- Open, close, archive, and maintain client files in line with firm procedures and compliance requirements.
- Handle incoming and outgoing post, including logging, distributing, and scanning documents to case files.
- Support fee earners by managing diaries, booking appointments, and scheduling meetings.
- Conduct basic property searches and assist with reviewing results under supervision.
- Prepare contract packs and help collate documents required for exchange and completion.
- Update internal systems and databases with key dates, milestones, and client information.
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, solicitors, and other third parties to support file progression.
- Assist with billing processes, including drafting fee notes and tracking disbursements.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies at all times.
- Any other duties as directed by the Supervisor.
What we\’re looking for:
- To be eligible to apply for the apprenticeship, you must be living in Wales and 16+ years old.
- Some prior experience in an office or administrative environment (e.g., work experience, internship, part-time job) is desirable but not essential
- Basic understanding of business or administrative processes
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Comfortable working as part of a team and independently when required
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- A genuine interest in business administration and/or the legal sector
