In partnership with Cardiff and Vale College, we’re excited to offer an opportunity for a Legal Apprentice to join our team. This role is ideal for someone eager to gain practical experience in a professional legal environment while working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration.

As a Legal Apprentice, you’ll play a key role in supporting the team with document preparation, administrative tasks, and client communications. This hands-on experience will give you valuable insight into the legal sector and help build a strong foundation for your future career.

What you\’ll be doing:

  • Carry out routine administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, printing, and filing documents.
  • Open, close, archive, and maintain client files in line with firm procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing post, including logging, distributing, and scanning documents to case files.
  • Support fee earners by managing diaries, booking appointments, and scheduling meetings.
  • Conduct basic property searches and assist with reviewing results under supervision.
  • Prepare contract packs and help collate documents required for exchange and completion.
  • Update internal systems and databases with key dates, milestones, and client information.
  • Liaise with clients, estate agents, solicitors, and other third parties to support file progression.
  • Assist with billing processes, including drafting fee notes and tracking disbursements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies at all times.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

What we\’re looking for:

  • To be eligible to apply for the apprenticeship, you must be living in Wales and 16+ years old.
  • Some prior experience in an office or administrative environment (e.g., work experience, internship, part-time job) is desirable but not essential
  • Basic understanding of business or administrative processes
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Comfortable working as part of a team and independently when required
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • A genuine interest in business administration and/or the legal sector
