Howells are working with a leading contractor operating within the property services, refurbishment and maintenance sector is seeking an experienced Head of Bid Management to lead and develop a high-performing bid function.

Working closely with senior operational and commercial stakeholders, you will play a key role in driving growth through successful tender activity across both public and private sector opportunities.

As Head of Bid Management, you will:

  • Lead an established team and take ownership of bid strategy, governance, resource planning and continuous improvement.
  • Manage bid strategy, governance and quality assurance processes.
  • Work with operational and commercial teams to identify and prioritise opportunities.
  • Oversee workload planning and resource allocation across the bid team.
  • Facilitate bid reviews, risk assessments and commercial sign-off processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and market intelligence.
  • Produce management information and performance reporting for senior leadership.

Requirements:

  • A strong background in bid management within construction, property services, social housing, maintenance or refurbishment sectors.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of tender governance.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Experience working closely with operational, estimating and commercial teams.
