We are currently seeking an experienced Multi Trader to join a well-established reactive maintenance team, carrying out day-to-day repairs and maintenance within occupied social housing properties across Slough and the surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will have either carpentry or plumbing as their main trade, alongside a good range of additional multi-trade skills.

This is a mobile role covering areas from Slough, Marlow and High Wycombe through to North and North West London, so candidates must be comfortable travelling between properties throughout the working day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out reactive repairs and maintenance within occupied social housing properties.
  • Completing carpentry or plumbing works as the main trade.
  • Carrying out general carpentry repairs, including doors, skirting, architraves and general timber repairs.
  • Completing basic plumbing repairs including taps, toilets, sinks, showers, wastes and minor leaks.
  • Undertaking additional multi-trade works including tiling, patch plastering, painting and decorating and basic electrical works.
  • Completing general repairs and making-good works as required.
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs efficiently.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally and to a good standard.
  • Providing good customer service while working within residents' homes.
  • Managing your own workload and completing jobs within agreed timescales.
  • Taking ownership of jobs from first visit through to completion.

  • Have a strong main trade in either carpentry or plumbing.
  • Have a good range of additional multi-trade skills.
  • Take pride in their workmanship.
  • Provide good customer service.
  • Complete jobs to a good standard and where possible right first time.
  • Work safely and professionally.
  • Communicate effectively with tenants and office-based teams.
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain good attendance and timekeeping.
  • Represent the business professionally.

Successful Applicants Will Be Expected To

  • Consistently achieve strong KPI performance, with a typical target of a minimum of 7 completed jobs per day.
  • Maintain good quality inspection scores.
  • Demonstrate reliability and good timekeeping.
  • Use PDA and mobile technology systems correctly.
  • Work independently and manage their own workload.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for allocated jobs.
  • Travel between properties across the required area.

Experience & Requirements

Applicants must have

  • Proven experience working as a Multi Trader.
  • Carpentry or plumbing as their main trade.
  • Relevant trade qualifications or proven time-served experience.
  • Proven experience within reactive maintenance, ideally within social housing.
  • Good experience working within occupied residential properties.
  • Additional skills in areas such as tiling, plastering, painting and decorating and basic electrical work.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage workloads effectively.
  • Full UK manual driving licence (no automatic vans available).
