We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Manager for our client; an established repairs and maintenance contractor operating within the housing sector. We are seeking an experienced and organised Apprentice Manager to take responsibility for the management and development of apprentices across the business. You will oversee apprentices throughout their apprenticeship journey, working closely with colleges, training providers and operational teams to ensure they receive the right support, training and opportunities to successfully complete their programmes. A key part of the role will be managing apprenticeship funding, including identifying and maximising applicable CITB grants, maintaining accurate records and ensuring funding claims are submitted correctly and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support apprentices throughout their apprenticeship journey, from onboarding through to completion
  • Monitor apprentice attendance, progress, performance and completion, identifying any issues and putting appropriate support in place
  • Work closely with colleges, training providers and site managers to ensure apprentices receive the appropriate training and support
  • Develop strong relationships with operational teams to ensure apprentices are effectively supported within the workplace
  • Manage apprenticeship funding arrangements and identify applicable CITB grants and other available funding
  • Maintain accurate apprenticeship records, documentation and training information
  • Track funding claims and ensure these are submitted accurately and within required timescales
  • Monitor apprenticeship programmes to ensure compliance with relevant requirements and standards
  • Provide regular updates to management on apprentice progress, funding and completion
  • Support the business in developing a strong pipeline of skilled future employees

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in an apprenticeship management or coordination role, ideally within construction, repairs and maintenance, housing or a related sector
  • Strong knowledge of apprenticeship programmes, funding arrangements and CITB grants
  • Experience working with colleges, training providers and operational/site management teams
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple apprentices and programmes simultaneously
  • Good understanding of apprenticeship compliance, record keeping and funding claims
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive and supportive approach to apprentice development
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly around records, funding and reporting
