Escape tax returns and compliance! Our client’s growing Tax Technical team is seeking to appoint an additional CTA Manager or Senior Manager.
The team acts not only as a technical resource but ensures that the right systems are in place to share knowledge effectively, uphold best practices, and enhance the firm’s reputation within the tax profession.
This is an exciting opportunity for a CTA with a strong technical tax background to deepen their expertise and share it with others. It would suit a client-facing adviser looking to move into an internal technical role, or an existing tax technical professional looking for the next step in their career.
The firm advises an impressive client list of HNW private individuals, owner-managed businesses, large corporates, and non-profits. The successful candidate will be comfortable advising on and researching tax issues affecting this broad range of clients.
The role will involve clear communication in various formats (written, online, and face-to-face) to the firm’s Tax teams. There’s also the opportunity to engage with HMRC and professional bodies on emerging tax policies, as well as collaborating with external partners to ensure the Tax department has the right resources to operate effectively.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the development and implementation of tax risk management and quality control procedures within the business.
- Enhancing and maintaining the firm’s internal tax knowledge database.
- Staying current with tax issues and developments relevant to the firm’s clients, and identifying opportunities to communicate these internally or externally.
- Creating tax-related content for internal and external audiences, including technical bulletins, newsletters, website content, email alerts, and press articles.
- Supporting the development and delivery of internal tax training programs.
- Drafting responses to HMT/HMRC consultations on issues that affect the firm’s client base.
- Developing templates, precedents, and checklists for use in client services.
Requisite Expertise:
- CTA qualified with a deep technical understanding of UK taxation, gained in either a client-facing or internal tax technical role.
- Strong ability to quickly grasp complex tax developments and communicate them clearly to a variety of audiences.
- Advanced skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- An interest in how technology can support knowledge management and improve information sharing, including creating user-friendly experiences for client-facing staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor your approach to different audiences and subject matters.
Salary will be dependent on grade and experience, but is likely to be in the range £60k-£90k + bens + hybrid working.
