We are looking for a tax-focused accountant to join our award-winning Legal 500 ranked Private Client team. You will work closely with our lawyers on wills, probate and trust matters, supporting with tax compliance, estate administration and related accounting work.

The role:

  • Preparing and submitting self-assessment tax returns
  • Preparing trust and estate tax returns, including R185s and IHT100s
  • Preparing estate and trust accounts
  • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
  • Monitoring deadlines and ensuring timely submissions
  • Supporting fee earners on probate and trust administration
  • Assisting with inheritance tax reporting and calculations

Skills and experience required:

  • Experience in personal tax compliance
  • Comfortable dealing with HMRC
  • Experience with estate accounts or trust work (preferred)
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Able to manage multiple matters and deadlines
  • Confident working alongside solicitors and within a team

Qualifications:

  • ATT qualified or studying (essential or strongly preferred)
  • CTA or STEP (qualified or studying) desirable
  • Experience in a law firm or private client team
  • Exposure to trusts, estates and inheritance tax work
