Due to recent contract awards in Edinburgh, Glasgow and further afield and general growth of the business, we are looking to hire a Foreman ceiling fixer.
Howe Ceilings & Interiorsare a small & dynamic family-run company based in Glasgow. We generally carry out medium sized projects at several locations at any one time across the central belt with our team members moving between our live projects as and when required.
The applicant should have strong knowledge of lay-in ceilings (including SAS), acoustic panelling, MF ceilings, metal stud partitions & SFS. Lightweight fire curtain and demountable partition experience are also preferable.
Project locations vary and are generally in Central Scotland. No guarantee will be given as to which project you will be assigned to prior to starting.
Day to Day:
- General responsibility for delivery on site of trade specific packages which Howe are undertaking.
- Reporting via software, photos and updates on daily progress including task updates.
- Programme tracking and ensuring that the works are being carried out in line with the programme, notifying the contracts or operations manager where there are issues.
- Ordering of materials in advance of requirement through commercial supervisor to ensure works can be continued without any delays.
- Would still be expected to carry on with installing systems once others are set up and where possible.
- Collecting tools, fixings, material and equipment with van where required.
- Applicant must be reliable, positive & able to work from their own intuition.
- Strong communication skills are a must for liaising with Howe & Main Contractor management, updating via telephone, mobile apps, email & company forms.
- OT provided when available.
Requirements:
- Ability to read drawings independently
- Driving licence.
- CSCS blue as a minimum, although gold would be preferable.
- Must have your own tools (including laser), PPE and understanding of H&S.
- IPAF, PASMA and other certification are also preferable
- SSSTS beneficial but not essential initially.
- Additional training provided where necessary and not currently held.
- 28 days annual leave.
- Use of van for moving materials, loading jobs and collecting required kit where necessary.
- Company benefits packages such as cycle to work scheme are available.
Salary based on experience – ranging from £37,500 – £39,500
