Join the UK’s No1 Trade Kitchen Supplier. Join Howdens as a Business Developer and play a key role in growing your local depot. We’re looking for someone who enjoys speaking to people face to face and on the phone, building relationships and driving business. You’ll introduce new trade customers to Howdens, stay close to your existing accounts, and spot opportunities to grow spend by understanding what your customers need and what they’re working on.

Working as part of a busy depot team, you’ll support sales activity by generating leads, arranging appointments and keeping the pipeline moving. You’ll work closely with our Kitchen Sales Designers and our Territory Sales Representatives, helping convert conversations into opportunities and opportunities into sales. If you’re confident on the phone, enjoy building rapport, and are motivated by targets and results, you’ll fit right in.

What we’re looking for:

  • A confident communicator who is comfortable speaking to customers on the phone and face to face
  • Someone who enjoys building relationships and turning conversations into opportunities
  • Commercially minded, with a focus on driving sales and adding value

  • Organised and reliable, able to manage customer activity and keep track of pipelines
  • Comfortable working to call targets and activity levels
  • Experience in telesales, account management or a customer focused role is helpful

What you’ll be doing:

  • Calling existing trade customers to build long term relationships and grow future business
  • Using customer data to spot inactivity and bring accounts back on track
  • Managing a targeted customer list and achieving daily call activity levels
  • Keeping up to date with customer projects to identify opportunities to add value and drive repeat business
  • Arranging surveys and appointments for our Kitchen Sales Designers
  • Promoting products, offers and events to keep customers engaged
  • Supporting administration, including invoicing and general depot tasks
  • Working closely with the wider team to help the depot hit its targets and deliver great service
