Howdens is recruiting for an Inbound Logistics Planner to join our Supply Planning team. Based within a fast‑paced and collaborative environment, this role plays a key part in keeping our inbound supply chain running smoothly across multiple sites.
Location: Howden, East Yorkshire
Contract: Full‑time, permanent
Reporting to: Inbound Freight Manager

What will you be doing as an Inbound Logistics Planner
- Planning and coordinating inbound deliveries into multiple PDC locations to ensure a consistent and efficient flow of goods
- Working closely with freight partners and suppliers to schedule and manage inbound bookings
- Managing delivery documentation and customs paperwork, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely system input
- Inputting and maintaining accurate delivery data within SAP
- Acting as a key point of contact for suppliers, resolving booking slot queries and managing changes
- Liaising with site logistics and receiving teams to align on capacity, scheduling, and operational processes
- Monitoring supplier compliance against delivery slots and escalating issues where required
- Supporting inbound forecasting and helping to balance capacity, cost, and service levels
- Working cross‑functionally with Supply Planning, Category, Manufacturing, and site teams
- Handling a high‑volume workload, including hundreds of weekly deliveries and booking slots across multiple sites and countries
What do you need to qualify for the Inbound Logistics Planner
- A natural problem solver, with the ability to find solutions in a constantly changing supply chain environment
- Experience working within a logistics, supply chain, or planning role
- Working knowledge of SAP and experience managing or inputting logistics data
- Understanding of customs clearance processes and associated documentation
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and manage competing demands
- Confident communicator, able to build relationships with suppliers, freight partners, and internal stakeholders
- High attention to detail, particularly when managing documentation and compliance requirements
- Comfortable making decisions that balance service, cost, and operational constraints
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams while also managing your own workload
