Howden Joinery is recruiting an Electrical Engineer to join our team based at Howdens Worksurfaces, our solid surface production facility in Normanton, Wakefield. This role will support proactive/preventative maintenance of our manufacturing equipment, services, utilities, and improvement projects and provide support to reactive breakdown maintenance as required.
The ideal candidate could have either completed an engineering apprenticeship or have relevant engineering qualifications with proven manufacturing or industrial experience. Additionally, a good understanding of manufacturing processes within an FMCG environment.
Pay rate: £50,469.12 per annum (Basic rate, shift & disturbance allowance) + monthly production bonus
Shift pattern: 3-week rolling shift pattern, days and nights. Every Saturday off. For each three-week block, 11 days in work, 10 days off

Key skills and experience required for the Electrical Engineer:
- Experience in using CNC machinery
- Edge polishers
- Extraction plants
- PUWER experience would be desirable
- Knowledge and experience of Siemens s7 PLC, PLC, Pilz Safety PLC, and PLC would be desirable
- Fault finding, root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Experience of computerised maintenance management systems
- NVQ Level 3 essential
