Job Description
Howdens is looking for a talented Systems Trainer to join our dedicated Learning & Development team, which plays a key role in supporting our Trade teams to deliver exceptional service. In this role, you’ll empower colleagues across the UK, from new starters to experienced professionals, to use our systems with confidence, accuracy, and consistency.

What Will You Be Doing as a Systems Trainer:
- Delivering engaging face-to-face and virtual systems training to depot-based Trade teams
- Supporting the rollout of new systems and system updates through tailored training sessions
- Working with subject matter experts to create and maintain practical, easy-to-understand training materials (e.g. “How Do I” guides)
- Adapting your training style to suit various learning preferences and digital confidence levels
- Using internal tools like the Learning Management System (LMS) to record training activity and support performance tracking
- Building strong relationships in depots and acting as a trusted point of contact for systems support and capability building
- Providing feedback on training needs and content improvements to the Systems Training Team Leader
- Staying up to date with business priorities and system changes to ensure training remains relevant
- This is a field-based role requiring frequent UK-wide travel and occasional overnight stays. You’ll work flexibly across regions as part of a supportive national team of Systems Trainers.
What Do You Need to Qualify for the Systems Trainer Role:
Essential:
- Proven experience in delivering systems or technical training
- Confident in both face-to-face and virtual training environments
- Ability to explain systems in a clear, simple, and engaging way
- Highly organised, adaptable, and responsive to business needs
- Strong communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills
- Able to manage your schedule independently and meet training deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
Desirable:
- Experience working in or supporting a trade/retail depot environment
- Familiarity with Howdens internal systems (e.g. K8, CAD, Live Stock, Account Management, ROP)
- Experience delivering training across multiple regions and working with varied stakeholder groups
