We’re looking for a proactive People Services Advisor to join our busy HR Services team on a six-month fixed-term contract. Based at our Croxley Park office in Watford, this is a full-time position where you will be working four days a week onsite and one day working from home. We’re launching our new people system, Workday and this role will be the first point of contact for Workday and HR queries from our employees and managers. You’ll handle incoming calls and tickets via our Workday system, resolving issues where possible or passing them on to the right team. It’s a key role in our HR Shared Service team, ensuring quick, accurate support and a great experience for everyone you help. You’ll report to the People Services Manager and be part of a collaborative, supportive team.

What will I be doing as a People Services Advisor?

  • Responding to incoming telephone calls and tickets from managers and employees regarding HR-related queries.
  • Providing accurate information and assistance on HR policies, procedures, and services, coaching our people to enable them to self-serve in the future.
  • Effectively using the HR information system (Workday) and Microsoft Office programmes to input and update data, ensuring that information is input correctly and on a consistent and timely basis, in line with department SLAs.
  • Escalating cases to the appropriate HR team members for further assistance in accordance with the case resolution framework.
  • Maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Collaborating with HR team members to ensure consistent and effective communication.
  • Participating in training sessions to stay updated on HR policies and procedures.
  • Building and maintaining familiarity with our HR policies and procedures.

What do I need to qualify for this People Services Advisor role?

  • Good basic knowledge of all aspects of HR through working within an HR team.
  • Educated to A level or relevant vocational experience.
  • Experience of working in a commercial customer focused environment.
  • Articulate and concise in verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise.
  • Ability to understand the crux of the situation and quickly establish next steps in accordance with the resolution framework.
  • Able to build solid working relationships and effectively communicate at any level.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to respond to changing demands and priorities.
  • Self-starter who is highly conscientious and able to demonstrate behaviours aligned to the values of the organisation.
  • Enjoys being part of a team that promotes team collaboration and supports others.
  • Recognises when to seek support to ensure quality of service is maintained.

It would be desirable if you also had:

  • Experience of using Workday.
  • Previous experience of working within a shared services environment.
  • Experience of multi-site, high volume commercial business.
  • Previous experience in a telephony-based customer services role.
