Join Howden as part of the Wealth and Protection Apprenticeship 2026. The apprenticeship is a one‑year rotational programme with the Mortgages and Financial Planning team, covering 6 months in the Protection Team followed by 6 months in the Wealth Team.
Location: London
Overview: You’ll become a trusted advisor, learning about insurance products, risk assessment and wealth planning while building a supportive network of peers and trainers. One day a week is dedicated to studying for a Level 3 qualification.
What you’ll do:
- Build a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification and participate in a structured development programme designed to build your skills and confidence.
- Work alongside the Protection and Wealth teams, shadowing administrators, preparing insurance quotes, conducting medical consultation calls, researching products, analysing pension information, building cash‑flow models and supporting advisors with research and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Shadow administrators and learn the protection lifecycle process.
- Support administrators with file construction and preparing insurance quotes.
- Collaborate with the Mortgages team to pass on clients interested in our services.
- Conduct medical consultation calls to understand health risks and chase doctors’ reports.
- Research and understand existing insurance products.
- Observe client meetings and analyse pension information.
- Build cash‑flow models and support advisors with research, analysis and reporting.
Qualifications:
- No experience in insurance is required; all training is provided.
- Final‑year sixth‑form/college students or recent college leavers.
- GCSE English and Maths at C grade or a 4 grade.
- Strong communication skills and comfortable taking phone calls with clients at all levels.
- Relationship building and analytical abilities.
- Ambitious and proactive, eager to make an impact.
