The Events Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end planning and delivery of high-quality corporate events for senior stakeholders across multiple business areas within Howden. These events will include internal leadership events, client-facing events, conferences and hospitality.

The role requires an experienced, hands-on events professional who can partner confidently with senior stakeholders, advise on best practice, and take full ownership of delivery. While business areas retain ownership of objectives, the Events Manager will be accountable for translating requirements into well-executed, professional events that meet agreed goals.

This is a fast-paced, delivery-focused role suited to someone who can hit the ground running, exercise sound judgement under pressure, and remain calm and solutions-focused during live events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver events end to end, from initial briefing and planning through to on-site delivery and post-event evaluation.
  • Act as a trusted events partner to senior stakeholders, advising on event format, feasibility, timelines, and best practice.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations confidently, including providing constructive challenge where required.
  • Lead all aspects of event delivery, including venue sourcing and contracting (UK and international), supplier, agency, and production management, budget management and cost control, AV, catering, delegate logistics, accommodation, and travel.
  • Develop and manage detailed event project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Take ownership of on-the-day delivery, including senior stakeholder liaison, troubleshooting, and overall event oversight.
  • Ensure all events are delivered in line with Howden's brand, values, and compliance requirements.
  • Analyse event performance against objectives and contribute to continuous improvement through feedback and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate event tracking and reporting using Monday.com (or similar tools).
  • Support the wider Group Events Team during peak delivery periods as required.
Person Specification - Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience delivering corporate events end to end within a professional, corporate or agency environment.
  • Demonstrable experience working with senior stakeholders, with the confidence to advise and challenge constructively.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent events including hybrid and virtual events.
  • Experience managing event budgets, suppliers, and contracts with strong commercial awareness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally at all levels.
  • Highly competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, producing professional-quality materials.
  • Hands-on and delivery-focused, willing to roll up sleeves to ensure successful execution.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and remains calm under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills.
