The Role: We are looking for an Account Executive to join the UK Projects Construction team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in assisting our client services proposition, leading market negotiations and driving new business. This will provide the framework to learn and understand the business within a dynamic and growing team and will assist with developing your insurance career.
What you’ll do:
- Attend team meetings and provide input to ensure appropriate information is considered
- Manage projects and key clients, and contribute to projects being led by other members of the team (as required)
- Assist in monitoring new business activity to aid effective planning and resourcing
- Review project documentation to ensure that information presented is sufficiently comprehensive/accurate to support the quoting process
- Develop strong relationships with markets and clients
- Draft underwriting submissions/market presentations and liaise with underwriters to secure quotations
- Review technical documentation to assist with understanding of projects and market discussions
- Produce high quality and compliant market documentation including slips, endorsements ensuring appropriate authorisations are secured
- Produce high quality and compliant client documentation, including quote reports, payment schedules and claims manuals
- Take responsibility for data entry, credit control and chasing subjectivities where required
- Liaise with processing technicians and accounts as required
- Ensure up to date records are maintained at all times
Who we’re looking for:
- 4-8 years’ experience in insurance and the UK London market, ideally with experience of UK Developers, but not essential
- Knowledge of the insurance market and good specific product knowledge
- Knowledge and understanding of standard UK contractual agreements e.g. JCT Design & Build, Facility Agreements and Asset Protection Agreements.
- A good understanding of regulatory and legal frameworks to ensure compliance and mitigate risks
- A keen interest in emerging market trends and product development within the Construction market
- A professional approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, and to work well as part of an open and collaborative team
- The ability to work independently, use initiative, and meet tight deadlines, showcasing your self-motivation and time management skills
- Calm and resilient under pressure, with the ability to positively react to change and adapt quickly to new circumstances
- Working towards or having attained ACII (desirable but not crucial), showcasing your commitment to professional development and industry knowledge
- Advanced Excel and computer literate skills in basic software (i.e Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Word etc.)
- Organised with attention to detail
- Proactive management of workload
