Role
What is the role?
Howden’s Climate Risk & Resilience (CRR) team is a growing and forward-thinking part of our business. We bring together expertise in business strategy, risk management, financial markets, and climate science to help our clients understand their climate risks, strengthen their resilience, and leverage insurance solutions to safeguard their future.
We’re looking for a proactive and organised Project Manager to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with project management experience who’s keen to deepen their understanding of climate advisory and insurance, while helping drive meaningful client outcomes.
You’ll work closely with consultants, brokers, and senior stakeholders to coordinate internal initiatives and client-facing projects that support businesses in navigating climate risk. Your work will help equip brokers with the tools and confidence to engage clients on climate-related topics – ultimately supporting increased insurance sales.
Please note that this is role is initially structured as a 12-month FTC (maternity cover). Following a hybrid work pattern, the expectation is for you to be onsite 2-3 days per week.
What will you be doing?

Contribute to the development and communication of Team strategy, monitoring and advising on the Team’s progress and objectives.

Assist in the preparation and implementation of the Team’s tactical plan to ensure this is in line with wider business strategy and reflects key priorities.

Plan, coordinate, and oversee projects from initiation to completion including internal initiatives, strategic workstreams and client deliverables where appropriate, supporting the delivery team and client solutions team where applicable.

Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocations where needed.

Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to meet objectives.

Support stakeholder engagement, including preparing updates, presentations, and reports.

Ensure clear documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment and delivery.

Keep on top of follow ups and actions for key stakeholder meetings as needed.

Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure alignment with client needs and industry developments.

Assist with the creation of comprehensive client and broker collateral, where appropriate

Assist with events as appropriate.
What are we looking for?

Previous experience in project coordination or management, ideally within professional services, financial services, or insurance. Experience in the climate space is a plus.

Strong ability to juggle multiple priorities and workstreams effectively.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Project); familiarity with collaboration tools like SharePoint and Teams is a bonus.

Comfortable working with data, creating reports and presentations for senior stakeholders, and developing client-facing materials.

Able to work independently and thrive in cross-functional teams.

Foreign language skills are a bonus.
