DUAL is a different kind of MGA and has been since day one in 1998. We’ve built our business on the idea that when industry expertise, intelligent underwriting and an entrepreneurial mindset come together, insurance can help our partners thrive. Today that philosophy is as relevant as ever. Our intermediary and carrier partners around the world rely on our underwriting teams to take initiative, lean into the challenges of an increasingly complex world, and respond to our clients’ emerging needs.
We’re looking for an experienced Data Protection Analyst to support our Data Protection Officer in handling data rights requests. The role will be primarily responding to Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), as well as working with the Data Protection Officer and the wider business to implement enhanced data privacy processes and controls within our growing personal lines insurance MGA. This role is a temporary position of up to six months and requires previous experience working with Data Subject Access Requests. The role involves a detailed understanding of the DSAR requirements and how to apply them in practice. The role will report directly to the DPO as part of the wider Risk and Compliance team within DUAL.
Role responsibilities
- Record and process DSARs received from customers on behalf of our personal lines insurance business.
- Receive and manage all other Data Rights requests in a professional, accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure all timelines are adhered to.
- Ensure data is complete.
- Ensure appropriate redactions are made to protect the privacy of others.
- Consider and apply exemptions from disclosure as agreed with the DPO.
- Document processes relating to DSARs.
- Along with the DPO, provide training and support to customer-facing colleagues about Data Rights requests.
Data Protection Control Framework
- Work alongside the DPO to document the control framework.
- Review and assess the Framework and make suggestions for enhancements.
- Implement any enhancements agreed by the DPO.
- Test controls to ensure they are working as expected.
- Report on the outcomes of the testing and recommend any further work required.
Key requirements
- Two years’ experience working in Data Protection.
- Excellent technical knowledge of data rights particularly in handling DSARs.
- A proven ability to work to regulatory timelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A high level of diligence and good attention to detail.
- An understanding of the frameworks used to manage Data Privacy risks within retail financial services.
