In Analytics, the actuarial team serves and supports all Howden businesses including Insurance, Reinsurance, and Capital Markets. The role spans most geographies and works with clients via London and regional offices worldwide. You will deliver actuarial and analytical solutions that provide outstanding value to both consumers (brokers, insureds, and reinsurers) and capacity (carriers). The position does not require an actuarial qualification, but Howden supports candidates who wish to begin, continue or maintain their professional studies.

What you’ll bring

  • Experienced practitioner in general insurance with expertise in pricing, reserving and/or capital modelling.
  • Preferably with casualty reinsurance pricing/reserving experience, confident in analysing, designing and pricing reinsurance structures for indemnity and parametric risks.
  • Background from consultancy, broker, or carrier, looking to advance a career in the (re)insurance industry.

Key accountabilities

  • Collaborate with colleagues across Howden and the wider Analytics team on (re)insurance placement projects or tender opportunities.
  • Build a professional network and engage with diverse peers and clients.
  • Apply and refine actuarial and analytical techniques to deliver advisory and placement projects, working with senior and junior colleagues.
  • Lead client and research projects commensurate with experience and skills.
