The Operations Manager will play a key role within the Bowood operations team, supporting the efficient management of delegated authority business. This position is responsible for:
- Overseeing operational processes for lineslip and in-house binder business.
- Assisting with audit management and reporting.
- Supporting the wider Operations team with process documentation and implementation.
The role requires close collaboration with broking teams, technical staff, and internal and external stakeholders to ensure a seamless client experience while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
What will you be doing?
- Manage end-to-end operational processes for lineslip placements, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations.
- Maintain and update contract templates within systems, ensuring timely implementation of regulatory changes and compliance requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry across all systems.
- Monitor team performance against targets and maintain records in line with company procedures.
- Act as liaison between the business and audit teams, ensuring all required information is provided and compliance standards are met.
Process & Compliance
- Maintain controls specific to lineslips and in-house binders, ensuring alignment with internal and external audit requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure documentation and workflows meet regulatory and compliance standards.
- Apply consistent procedures across all pillars, as outlined in Bowood's Operational Policy Manual (OPM).
- Assist with documenting processes and supporting their implementation across Bowood.
- Work closely with audit teams to ensure full compliance with internal and external requirements.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Support and guide technical teams and brokers in executing operational tasks related to lineslip and binder business.
- Liaise with broking teams to ensure client requirements are accurately captured and serviced.
- Provide regular updates to the Head of Operations and contribute to planning and team development initiatives.
Systems & Reporting
- Maintain proficiency in systems including Global XB, Atlas, DCOM, and DDM.
- Use reporting tools to track performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Proven experience in insurance operations, ideally within delegated authority or lineslip environments.
- Strong understanding of lineslips, binding authority contracts, and placement processes.
- Familiarity with operational systems (Global XB, Atlas, DCOM, DDM) and control frameworks.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across teams.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience working within a delegated authority team.
- Knowledge of Lloyd's controls and processes for delegated authority business.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
