As a Share Scheme Assistant (maternity cover, twelve‐month assignment) at Howden, you will support the Shares Team in delivering share‐related and ad‐hoc services to the Group's boards, shareholders, and wider business. The role ensures full compliance with Group policies and involves day‐to‐day administration of shareholder tasks and Share Scheme databases such as Diligent Entities and Shareworks. The position is based in the Central London office with a hybrid work pattern – you are expected to work on site four days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer day‐to‐day shareholder related tasks and maintain Share Scheme databases.
  • Engage with shareholders, providing general information on shareholdings and incentive schemes.
  • Assist with share transfers to the Employee Benefit Trust vehicle and instruct associated shareholder payments.
  • Review and interpret governance documents, including Articles of Association, Shareholders' Agreement and Share Notices.
  • Coordinate with internal teams such as HR, Tax, Legal and Company Secretariat.
  • Support projects such as Internal Share Offers, liquidity events and incentive awards allotment.
  • Handle ad‐hoc matters, escalating issues as required and producing financial and administrative reports.
  • Assist team members with daily activities while expanding expertise in Diligent Entities and Shareworks.
  • Develop relationships with employee shareholders and contribute to Group‐wide initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in Share Schemes with a strong desire to advance in this domain.
  • Proven ability to manage share administration and implement effective control processes.
  • Highly organised with strong monitoring and accuracy skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to draft bespoke correspondence to shareholders.
  • Knowledge or competition in The Certificate in Employee Shares Plans qualification is preferable.
  • Familiarity with Diligent Entities and Shareworks highly preferred.
