This role is part of a distributed global infrastructure team responsible for the availability and support of a hybrid on‑premises and cloud environment. The position is highly hands‑on, requiring design, implementation, troubleshooting and support across network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate appliance and VM‑based vendor technologies via CLI or web interface to design, implement, install, diagnose, troubleshoot, upgrade, decommission and support all network areas.
  • Respond to incidents, requests and assigned project work; raise and discuss change requests as necessary.
  • Provide support across Cloud, Data Centre and office network environments for the business throughout the UK, Europe and Asia.
  • Collaborate with wider IT infrastructure teams to ensure seamless operation of global network services.

Required Technical Skills

  • Experience in a network infrastructure team as a hands‑on network engineer.
  • Operational and project engineering support for all aspects of enterprise IT networks.
  • Hands‑on experience with Juniper, Cisco, Meraki, Forescout NAC, Forcepoint Web Proxy, Palo Alto, AV systems such as MS Teams and related technologies.
  • Design and build network hardware, IP addressing, firewall rule‑sets, testing and roll‑out.
  • Experience with wired and WiFi LANs and supporting Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and 2FA.
  • Support for Azure cloud‑hosted environments and global WAN providers.
  • Strong knowledge of Layer‑2/3, dynamic routing, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VPN, certificate management, remote user access and firewall management.
  • IT security best practices and familiarity with ServiceNow and LogicMonitor.

Certifications

  • ITIL Foundation, CCNA, CCNP.

Desirable Experience

  • Microsoft server technologies (Win2019/2016/2012).
  • VMware, Citrix and SD‑WAN.
  • Previous work in insurance or financial services sector.
  • Strong customer service mindset and a 'can‑do' attitude.
