What is the role? As the Senior Sponsorship Manager in the Sponsorship division, you will have a key role in delivering our high‑profile sponsorship partnerships. These include Ascot Racecourse and the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Your role will involve supporting the wider team in activating sponsorship opportunities for the group. You will collaborate with the Sponsorship group and business leads at Howden to understand how our sponsorship portfolio drives business results and return on investment. You will also help make it resonate with our clients through world‑class activations and corporate hospitality. Your responsibilities will involve working with our appointed agencies on sponsorship events and client entertainment, predominately within the UK. You will work alongside experts within the team and other departments to manage the guest experience. This will contribute to our continued business growth and success.
What will you be doing?
- Running corporate hospitality and sponsorship activations that are key to the success of our sponsorship collection.
- Working with relevant teams to understand where the activation opportunities may lie that are related to sponsorship and assets.
- Work with the Director of Sponsorship and Sponsorship Director on any branding requirements and approvals needed as part of the sponsorship agreements and activations.
- Liaise with senior partners to coordinate their guest requirements and allocations at exclusive business entertaining occasions, focusing on the Ascot racing venue and the renowned hill climb event at Goodwood.
- Be a part of the core team responsible for delivering guest lists for key corporate hospitality events in the UK.
- Lead assigned projects and provide relevant information and reporting to the senior management team.
- Contribute to the development of effective operational systems and processes supporting sponsorship activities and how we work with other departments, and within the wider business.
- Coordinate with external agencies and ensure guest data is logged via the new Howden CRM system.
- Work closely with relevant internal teams (data, brand, compliance, CRM, events and more).
- Conduct research and surveys to identify potential opportunities and understand colleague and clients' needs and feedback.
- Participate in management meetings, reporting on business progress within your area.
- Remain up-to-date and follow all compliance regulations regarding sponsorship events and ticketing.
What do we need from you?
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of our Group structure and key personnel is advantageous though not required.
- Knowledge of brand and sponsorship values and activation is preferable but not crucial.
- Ability to establish effective relationships with senior management and other key partners.
- Confidence to work with clients, potential clients and prominent individuals at a senior level.
- Great decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues/risks.
- A standout colleague who can contribute significantly to the sponsorship team.
- Flexibility for international travel to sponsorship events, race meetings etc.
- Flexibility to work outside regular office hours and sometimes at weekends when sponsorship events dictate.
