Role Summary
- This role is part of a distributed, global infrastructure team responsible for maintaining a hybrid on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
- The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Operate appliance and VM-based vendor technologies via CLI or web interface to design, implement, diagnose, troubleshoot, upgrade, decommission, and support network areas.
- Handle incidents, requests, project work, and discuss change requests as needed.
- Support Cloud, Data Centre, and office network environments within the wider IT infrastructure teams.
- Work in a fast-paced environment supporting business operations across UK, Europe, and Asia.
Job Specific Skills Profile
Technical skills required:
- Hands-on experience in a network infrastructure team as a network engineer.
- Operational and project support for enterprise IT networks.
- 2-5 years’ experience with Juniper, Cisco, Meraki, Forescout NAC, Forcepoint Web Proxy, MS Teams, Palo Alto.
- Experience in designing network builds, hardware, IP addressing, firewall rules, testing, and rollout.
- Experience with wired and WiFi LANs.
- Supporting environments with Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, 2FA.
- Supporting Azure cloud environments.
- Experience working with global WAN providers and international enterprise networks.
- Knowledge of diagnosing LAN/WAN, routing, cabling, firewall faults.
- Networking knowledge: Layer 2/3, routing protocols, VPN, certificates, remote access, firewall management.
- Understanding of IT security practices, ServiceNow, LogicMonitor.
- Certifications: ITIL Foundation, CCNA, CCNP.
Desirable experience:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Server (2012-2019), VMware, Citrix, SD-WAN.
