This role requires a proactive and strategic thinker who can translate business needs into the most efficient process and technical, automated and compliant solution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and IT, with a passion for driving true business transformation through technology, automation, data and process optimization. Please note that this role will initially be structured as an 18-month FTC. This is also a fully-remote role that can be based anywhere in the UK.
What will you be doing?
- Liaise with business and IT teams to translate finance requirements into data sourcing and process documentation.
- Perform financial analysis for budgets and reporting (monthly, quarterly, YTD, actual vs. forecast).
- Document progress, issues, and solutions from a finance perspective.
- Create automated reconciliation processes and maintain process documentation.
- Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements in finance.
- Support end users for finance and accounting processes, including month-end close, reporting, and planning.
- Coordinate and document end-user testing, upgrades, and maintenance patches.
What are we looking for?
- Previous BA experience in Finance Systems, Finance Transformation, and/or Systems implementation projects/programmes.
- Lucidchart, Visio, or other BPM documentation experience.
- Ability to challenge the status quo constructively, with standardisation (data/process) and addressing control/risks as key deliverables.
- Experience in finance systems (e.g., Unit4 / CODA / Workday etc).
- Strong skills in Excel, SQL, ETL and / or Middleware.
- Experience in business requirement elicitation and documentation.
- Project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Lean / Six Sigma certification desirable, not essential.
- Experience in the insurance industry also a plus.
What do we offer in return? A career that you define. At Howden, we value diversity – there is no one Howden type. Instead, we’re looking for individuals who share the same values as us:
- Our successes have all come from someone brave enough to try something new.
- We support each other in the small everyday moments and the bigger challenges.
- We are determined to make a positive difference at work and beyond.
Reasonable adjustments: We’re committed to providing reasonable accommodations at Howden to ensure that our positions align well with your needs. Besides the usual adjustments such as software, IT, and office setups, we can also accommodate other changes such as flexible hours or hybrid working.
