What is the role? This is a one-year apprenticeship programme in Financial Planning and Analysis. You will begin your career in Financial Planning and Analysis, working alongside experienced finance business partners and being exposed to a wide variety of insurance teams to understand how finance partners drive impact and profitability at Howden. You will be part of a friendly and supportive team who will guide you every step of the way. One day a week will be dedicated to studying towards a Level 3 qualification, while earning a salary and gaining real-world experience.
What you’ll do?
- You will gain a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification for your relevant programme.
- As part of this, you’ll spend one day a week studying with your dedicated trainer, who will support you every step of the way to ensure you are set up for success.
- Take part in a year-long structured development programme to build skills and confidence for your role.
- Build your data analysis skills by supporting our finance business partners with their projects.
- Learn how to prepare and communicate financial reports to highlight key trends and support business decisions.
- Assist with maintaining and updating financial data systems and spreadsheets, ensuring data accuracy.
- Learn how financial models are used to analyse data from our different teams.
- Build confidence in preparing monthly financial reports on profit and loss summaries and cost tracking.
What are we looking for?
- No experience in insurance or finance is required; we’ll teach you everything you need to know!
- Final year sixth form/college students or recent college leavers.
- GCSE English at Grade C/4 and Maths at Grade B/6.
- Individuals who are passionate about finance and thrive on working with numbers and data.
- Resilient individuals who enjoy working at a fast pace.
- Critical problem solvers with good attention to detail.
- Collaborative team players eager to work on different projects.
- Confident and comfortable communicating with individuals at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot trends from data.
- Comfortable using Excel for data entry and analysis.
