Job Title: Test Lab Manager
Reports to Group Technical Director
Role Requirements
Full management of the Sheffield Test Laboratory, both in production and to keep the UKAS accreditation.
Ensuring that all testing/machining is done to the latest standards and specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Management of the test laboratory ensures an efficient testing facility supporting plant operations.
Control of testing schedules to support order delivery requirements.
Completion of master schedule testing list.
Working with UKAS accreditation to control testing and ensure correct procedures.
Generation of weekly test load information.
Provide support to other departments to ensure product quality.
Training of staff.
Any health and safety issues in the lab.
Organisational skills.
Accountabilities and Performance Measures
Ensure all testing activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications
Maintain accurate and complete test documentation for audit readiness.
Implement process improvements to reduce test cycle time and increase accuracy
Act as the primary point of contact for all lab-related queries
Support customers or regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.
Job Requirements/Qualifications
5 years’ experience in a test lab environment.
Attend relevant Metallurgy courses.
Attend UKAS courses.
