The predicted salary is between 45000 - 55000 £ per year.

Based at either Bredbury or Irvine site. Responsible for carrying out all activities within your job description listed below, ensuring that procedures are followed pertaining to your responsibilities. Your role is defined below but when required this can be expanded to support other roles within the department.

To ensure that Quality Standards to BS EN ISO 9001 are maintained and that the quality of all products supplied by Howco Bredbury conform to our own quality standards as well as our customers. To ensure all health and safety regulations are observed and maintained. To promote and encourage effective communication. To assist in implementation of total quality and process improvement at Howco.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Build & maintain Parts Master database including BOM structures in line with customer specifications.
  • Manually manipulate BOM structures with Purchased & Manufactured Parts to align with proposed manufacturing method and supply.
  • Apply optimal route for manufacture taking into consideration, schedule, cost, time and capability.
  • Gather proposals, drawings, specifications & related documents to evaluate and generate quotations for machined parts and complex bills of materials using bespoke tools and the company ERP system (EFACS).
  • Establish and agree with the Procurement Make vs Buy option.
  • Provide skeleton route including estimated manufacturing times & best route for manufacturing plan.
  • Specify RAW material dimensions for efficient manufacture route and send out RFQ for cost calculations.
  • Identify Sub Contract services required & obtain relevant pricing and delivery options from the recognized vendor supply chain i.e. Welding, Coating & Spark Erosion.
  • Work with Sub Contract Suppliers in order to establish the optimum Planning & Method for Manufacturing & Quality.
  • Populate EFACS database with routings costs, Stock Parameters including delivery estimates.
  • Assist in developing & refining the quoting & estimating process.
  • Carry out contract reviews when required with relevant stakeholders to ensure capability & compliance with technical specifications.
  • Assist in RFQ activities related to manufactured products, i.e. sending RFQ to sub suppliers for component parts.
  • Ensure any deviation from Drawing and/or Specification requirements are clearly documented in the RFQ return to the Customer. To be subsequently actioned internally via QN process in advance of order placement.
  • Attend internal PPM Meetings on behalf of Sales/Manufacturing.
  • Ensure that Customer RFQ deadlines are adhered to.
  • Assist in the buildup of quotations to customer enquiries, technically evaluating & generating estimates.

Job Requirements Qualifications:

Previous experience within Manufacturing Engineer or an ex Machinist who is looking to progress into Estimating, Sales & Commercial environment.
