We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Paralegal to join our leading Residential Real Estate team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal to develop their career within a market-leading practice acting on some of London's most prestigious residential property matters.

Our Residential Real Estate team is recognised for advising high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices, overseas investors, and private banks on a wide range of complex residential property transactions.

We specialise in prime and super-prime residential property across Central London and the Home Counties, handling acquisitions and disposals of freehold, leasehold and new-build properties, portfolio transactions, lease extensions and refinancing matters.

Working as part of a collaborative and highly regarded team, you will play a key role in supporting fee earners on a varied caseload and ensuring the delivery of an exceptional client service.

You will gain exposure to sophisticated transactions and work closely with colleagues across the wider Private Wealth and Real Estate practice.

  • Main responsibilities
  • Manage residential property transactions from instruction through to completion and post-completion, supporting all fee earners throughout the process.
  • Draft and prepare key legal documents, including contracts, transfer deeds and reports on title.
  • Review title documents, order and analyse searches, identifying risks and report issues where appropriate.
  • Ordering and analysing searches.
  • Raise and respond to pre-contract enquiries and liaise with solicitors, agents, lenders, landlords and other third parties.
  • Assist with exchange and completion processes, including preparing completion and financial statements and coordinating completions.
  • Submit SDLT returns, manage HM Land Registry applications, registrations and requisitions, including any required notices to landlords or other third parties.
  • Maintaining accurate matter records and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements, manage client balances and close files.

About you

Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate

  • Experience in a similar role within a high performing Residential Conveyancing team within private practice.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to build effective relationships with colleagues, clients, agents, lenders and other advisers.
  • Excellent organisational skills and good attention to detail, with a high standard of accuracy and the ability to deliver to demanding deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Experienced in using Elite or similar time recording systems.
  • Experience in using Filesite or a similar document management system.
  • An interest in legal technology, innovation and process improvement, with enthusiasm for enhancing client service and improving ways of working.
