The Role
As Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality bookkeeping services to clients, from day-to-day processing through to VAT preparation and compliance. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining accurate financial records using Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
- Providing monthly bookkeeping services for clients
- Reconciling bank statements
- Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
- Handling bookkeeping queries and general administration
- Building strong, professional relationships with clients
- Supporting compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure accurate data entry and reporting
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring solid bookkeeping experience and a proactive, organised approach. You will ideally have:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
- A strong understanding of accounting principles and UK VAT legislation
- Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks and Sage (other cloud-based systems beneficial)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and a positive, professional attitude
