Role Overview
Howard James Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Administration Manager on behalf of a welcoming and well-established primary school. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual to lead a busy school office and play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school. As Senior Administration Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the school office, ensuring a high standard of service is delivered to pupils, staff, parents and visitors. The role will involve managing administrative processes across areas such as attendance, admissions, data management, finance support and safeguarding compliance, while also supporting wider school functions. This position would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a positive contribution within a supportive educational setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the school administration office
- Ensure efficient processes across attendance, admissions and pupil data management
- Provide administrative support relating to finance and school operations
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding and data requirements
- Act as a key point of contact for staff, parents, pupils and visitors
- Support wider school initiatives and operational functions
- Coordinate office systems to ensure smooth and efficient administrative processes
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Strong experience within school administration or a similar environment
- Previous responsibility for coordinating or managing office functions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident user of Microsoft Office and school MIS systems (experience with Arbor beneficial)
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Professional, discreet and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality and supporting positive school values
Desirable
- NVQ Level 3 or higher in Business Administration
- Experience working within a Multi-Academy Trust environment
- First Aid trained (or willing to undertake training)
- Experience supporting finance administration, website compliance or school social media
