Health & Safety Manager ๐Ÿ“ Wigan | ๐Ÿ•’ 28.5 hours per week (Monday to Thursday) | ๐Ÿ’ท ยฃ25,000 โ€“ ยฃ30,000 per annum (DOE) Job Type: Permanent | Sector: Manufacturing / Engineering Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional looking for a new challenge within a well-established manufacturing environment? Weโ€™re working with a successful and long-standing business in Wigan who are seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Manager to take the lead on all aspects of Health, Safety, and Compliance across their offices, factory, and operations. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a highly respected business and play a key role in shaping and maintaining a proactive H&S culture. ๐Ÿ” Role Overview: Youโ€™ll be responsible for ensuring the company remains fully compliant with all legal and regulatory health & safety requirements. From managing risk assessments and statutory inspections to leading internal H&S meetings and liaising with external bodies โ€“ youโ€™ll be the go-to expert on all things safety. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Main Responsibilities: * Ensure full legal compliance on all health & safety matters across office, factory, and site operations * Raise awareness and promote a positive H&S culture throughout the organisation * Act as the companyโ€™s Fire Officer โ€“ managing drills, reports, and response planning * Maintain and update risk assessments, COSHH registers, fire assessments, and H&S manuals * Lead H&S meetings and act as the key internal representative on all safety issues * Oversee first aid provision and ensure all necessary training and supplies are in place * Coordinate and carry out statutory inspections (e.g., PAT testing, electrical certs) * Lead incident investigations and provide actionable recommendations * Deliver in-house H&S training and inductions * Support the business in disaster recovery planning and emergency response * Liaise with the HSE, Environmental Health, and other relevant authorities * Ensure ongoing compliance with accreditations and drive implementation of new ones as needed โœ… What Weโ€™re Looking For: * Minimum 2 years\’ experience in a Health & Safety role (essential) * NEBOSH or IOSH qualification (preferred) * Strong understanding of risk assessments, manual handling, COSHH & DSE assessments * Confident communicator with the ability to influence and advise at all levels * Excellent written and IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) * A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently ๐Ÿ’ผ The Offer: * Competitive salary: ยฃ25,000 โ€“ ยฃ30,000 per annum (DOE) * Part-time, permanent hours: Monday โ€“ Thursday (28.5 hours) * Opportunity to join a well-established, stable, and reputable business * Make a genuine impact in a role with autonomy and responsibility Ready to take the next step in your H&S career?
