The Role

As Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality bookkeeping services to clients, from day-to-day processing through to VAT preparation and compliance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records using Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
  • Providing monthly bookkeeping services for clients
  • Reconciling bank statements
  • Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
  • Handling bookkeeping queries and general administration
  • Building strong, professional relationships with clients
  • Supporting compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure accurate data entry and reporting

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring solid bookkeeping experience and a proactive, organised approach. You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
  • A strong understanding of accounting principles and UK VAT legislation
  • Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks and Sage (other cloud-based systems beneficial)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, professional attitude
