A well-established charitable organisation is seeking an experienced and organised Finance Officer to oversee financial operations and support funding activities. This role is ideal for someone passionate about finance administration within the charitable or voluntary sector.
The Role
You will take responsibility for maintaining accurate financial records, managing funding bids, and ensuring smooth financial administration across the organisation. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys both finance and supporting charitable initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Finance & Accounts
- Maintain oversight of the organisation’s finances
- Manage accounts using QuickBooks
- Process payments in and out, including invoices received and issued
- Chase outstanding payments where required
- Reconcile QuickBooks with bank statements monthly
- Prepare accounts for the financial year end
- Support and submit funding bids in liaison with the management team
- Track funding applications and follow up where necessary
- Maintain accurate funding records and trackers
- Produce monthly financial reports for the Board
- Monitor online donation platforms alongside fundraising colleagues
- Record income from donors, fundraising events and grants
- Maintain Gift Aid records and complete annual claims
Person Specification
Essential
- Substantial experience in a finance or accounts role
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently
- Strong communication skills across phone, email, online and face-to-face environments
Desirable
- Experience using QuickBooks
- Experience working within a charity or voluntary organisation
- Awareness of charitable fundraising processes
Working Hours
- 15 hours per week
- Term time only
- Ideally spread across three days
