Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum (depending on experience and knowledge)

Service: Brand new 4-bedded EBD children's residential home (all-male)

Howard Finley Care is delighted to be working alongside a passionate and values-driven children's residential care provider to recruit an experienced Registered Manager for their brand new 4-bedded EBD children's home in Telford. The property and planning permission are already in place, and the provider is now seeking a Registered Manager to lead the service through Ofsted registration and into operation. A highly skilled and experienced Responsible Individual (RI) is in post, a qualified Social Worker with a strong vision to create a safe, nurturing, and trusted environment for children and young people in care. This is an excellent opportunity for an established Registered Manager who is confident in regulatory compliance and passionate about delivering high-quality, child-centred care. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the culture, standards, and long-term success of the service from the very beginning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the home through the Ofsted registration process and prepare the service for opening
  • Provide strong, consistent leadership to establish and develop a high-performing staff team
  • Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding standards, and legislation
  • Develop, implement, and embed robust care plans, policies, and procedures
  • Work closely with the Responsible Individual to build a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for young people
  • Lead on Regulation 44 processes, audits, and continuous quality improvement

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager within children's residential care essential
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) essential
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Ofsted regulations and the inspection framework essential
  • Good working knowledge of Regulation 44 and quality assurance processes essential
  • Previous experience of being through an Ofsted inspection essential
  • Experience setting up a children's residential home is desirable but not essential
  • Passionate, resilient, and committed to delivering outstanding outcomes for children and young people
