Role Overview
As a Day Centre Support Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care and support to adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. You will help individuals engage in meaningful activities, promote independence, and maintain a safe, positive environment.
Key Responsibilities

Support service users with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours throughout the day.

Assist with personal care tasks, ensuring dignity and respect.

Encourage and facilitate participation in social, educational, and recreational activities.

Support clients to develop life skills and promote independence.

Manage challenging behaviour safely using appropriate de-escalation techniques.

Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.

Maintain accurate and confidential records of care and progress.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals.

Transport service users to and from the day centre using your own vehicle.
Requirements

Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.

Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.

Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care) desirable but not essential.

Willingness to undertake training as required.
