Howard Finley Care is delighted to be working on behalf of our client to recruit an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager for a brand-new 4-bedded children's residential home in Sunderland supporting young people with learning disabilities. This is a great opportunity to join a brand-new service with excellent facilities, giving you the chance to shape the team, culture, and standards from the start. You'll be supported by a family-orientated provider that truly values its staff and offers strong backing from senior leadership.
Key Duties:
- Lead the opening and ongoing management of a 4-bedded learning disability service, ensuring full compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding frameworks.
- Recruit, lead, and develop a committed staff team delivering high-quality, child-centred care.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that supports positive outcomes for young people.
- Maintain strong relationships with families, professionals, and external agencies.
- Drive quality assurance, compliance, and continuous improvement across the service.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager within children's residential care - essential
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - essential
- Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and compliance - essential
- Experience supporting children with learning disabilities - desirable
- Passion for leading new services and developing teams - essential
