Howard Finley Care is delighted to be working on behalf of an exciting new children's residential provider to recruit an experienced Registered Manager for a brand-new 3-bedded EBD children's home in Sheffield. The home has planning permission fully approved, with renovations currently underway. The provider is keen to appoint a Registered Manager at an early stage to allow them to be actively involved in the final stages of renovation and setup, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to truly put their own stamp on the service before opening. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and experienced Registered Manager who is passionate about high-quality, child-centred care and enjoys building services from the ground up. There is also clear progression available, with scope to move into a Dual Registered Manager position once the home is fully established and a second service opens.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the registration and opening of the children's home with Ofsted
- Provide strong leadership to develop a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic EBD service
- Recruit, manage, and develop a skilled and motivated staff team
- Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding standards, and quality frameworks
- Work closely with the Responsible Individual and wider support network to embed best practice
- Drive continuous improvement and positive outcomes for children and young people
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Ofsted-registered Registered Manager - essential
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - essential
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and quality standards
- Experience setting up a children's home is desirable but not essential
- Passionate, resilient, and committed to delivering outstanding care
