We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established 41-bedded residential care home in Manchester for an experienced Night Senior Care Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and compassionate senior carer who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and leading night teams effectively. The home supports elderly residents, including those living with dementia, and prides itself on maintaining a safe, calm, and supportive environment during night hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and supervising the night care team to ensure high standards of care are consistently delivered.
- Providing hands-on, person-centred care to residents, including personal care, mobility support, and continence care.
- Administering medication safely in line with company policies.
- Conducting regular welfare checks and responding promptly to residents' needs during the night.
- Acting as the main point of contact overnight, escalating concerns appropriately to on-call management or emergency services when required.
- Supporting residents with dementia, ensuring reassurance, comfort, and dignity at all times.
- Completing accurate documentation, including care notes, incident reports, and handover notes.
- Ensuring safeguarding, health & safety, and infection control procedures are followed at all times.
- Supporting new or junior staff members and leading by example.
- Maintaining a calm, reassuring environment throughout the night.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Care Assistant within a residential or nursing home.
- NVQ Level 3 or above in Health & Social Care (essential).
- Experience supporting elderly residents, including those with dementia.
- Confident in medication administration and senior responsibilities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
