We’re looking for a new Technical Manager to join us at our fast-paced factory in Forest Gate, East London. Communication in this role is key and there’ll be a strong emphasis on continuously driving the improvement in site standards, by liaising and advising teams within the factory. Whether that is in regard to technical matters, problems to solve or ensuring root cause is identified and then corrected with preventative measures put in place, the Technical Manager will oversee all of the above. This position is a key part of the cogs that enable the bakery to function and therefore, the successful candidate will need to have had previous experience in a senior technical role, as well as having a background in holding responsibility in Hygiene and/or Compliance. They will also be required to ensure all aspects of Quality, Food Safety & Legality on site are kept to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Hygiene function through the Hygiene Manager and their shift teams ensuring the site standards are maintained.
- Ensure team members are fully engaged in the pursuit of quality improvement in product and process.
- Leading a Total Quality approach.
- Proactive measures are taken to minimise risk in the workplace.
- Be able to understand the key areas of the process to be able to manage resources and schedules accordingly in the short term.
- Ensure all aspects of Quality, Food Safety & Legality on site are kept to a high standard.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in a senior technical role within food manufacturing, retail or service.
- People leadership and management experience.
- HACCP Qualification (Level 4).
- Someone who can drive improvement standards.
- Experience or previous responsibility for Hygiene and/or Compliance.
- Be confident in communicating across various parts of the factory including; hygiene, quality, compliance, safety and process.
