We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join the Accounting Services Team.

This is an excellent entry level role into Finance within Assoiciated British Foods (ABF) and primarily focussed on one of our supported businesses.

In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience across core finance activities while supporting one of our UK businesses.

You'll work as part of a collaborative, high-performing team focused on delivering accurate reporting, strong controls, and outstanding service.

Key Accountabilities

As an Assistant Accountant you'll play a key role in supporting period-end and day-to-day finance operations, including:

  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations each period.
  • Completing bank and cash reconciliations.
  • Posting general ledger allocations to support weekly and period reporting.
  • Preparing and posting accruals and prepayments.
  • Completing VAT returns, Intrastat, EC Sales submissions, and National Statistics.
  • Supporting the wider Accounting team across other ABF businesses.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc tasks to ensure the Accounting Services team delivers a high-quality service.
