Hover helps people design, improve, and protect the properties they love. With proprietary AI built on over a decade of real property data, Hover answers age-old questions like “What will it look like?” and “What will it cost?” Homeowners, contractors, and insurance professionals rely on Hover to get fully measured, accurate, and interactive 3D models of any property — all from a smartphone scan in minutes. At Hover, we’re driven by curiosity, purpose, and a shared commitment to serving our customers, communities, and each other. We believe the best ideas come from diverse perspectives and are proud to cultivate an inclusive, high-performance culture that inspires growth, accountability, and excellence.
Most IT roles ask you to keep the lights on. This one asks you to rebuild what the lights run on. At Hover, the Senior IT Administrator is part operator, part engineer — someone who can handle the in-person demands of a busy office while carving out meaningful time to build the internal tools, automations, and integrations that make IT faster and smarter. You'll use AI coding assistants like Claude Code and Cursor to create micro-applications that shrink our SaaS footprint, automate lifecycle workflows, and surface insights from the data our systems already produce. At the same time, you'll own the security operations that our enterprise customers depend on: managing compliance responses, establishing a customer-facing trust center, and bringing SOC 2 rigor to how we operate.
You’ll manage Cisco Meraki network configurations in support of both day-to-day office network needs and future office moves.
You will contribute by:
- Building custom integrations, micro-applications, and automation tools using AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) to reduce manual IT workflows and shrink Hover's SaaS footprint.
- Analysing operational data from Okta, Jira, and other systems to identify patterns, automate application provisioning for new hires, and generate executive-level narrative insights.
- Building and managing a scalable customer security response pipeline, including a customer-facing trust center, with consistent performance against SLA.
- Automating laptop collection, asset tracking, and offboarding workflows to replace manual processes and integrate with existing lifecycle automation systems.
- Building sensors and alerting mechanisms to detect SaaS system health interruptions and support rapid IT remediation.
- Sharing ownership of day-to-day IT operations and helpdesk support for our San Francisco and New York offices and remote employees, including hardware troubleshooting, AV and network performance, and access management.
- Supporting new hire onboarding and departing employee offboarding in partnership with People Operations.
- Administering and optimising Okta, Jamf, GitHub Enterprise, Google Workspace, and related tooling across the employee base.
Your background includes:
- Hands-on experience administering Okta (SSO, provisioning, lifecycle policies) and Jamf (Mac and iOS device management, policy enforcement) in a SaaS-forward tech environment.
- GitHub Enterprise administration experience, including org-level access management and SSO integration.
- Demonstrated experience using AI coding assistants (such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot) to build internal tooling, automate workflows, or develop integrations — or a strong scripting/automation background with clear trajectory toward AI-assisted development.
- Working knowledge of SOC 2 Type II audit frameworks and experience supporting security questionnaire processes and customer compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with Cisco networking fundamentals, Google Workspace administration, Jira, and Slack in an enterprise environment.
- Ability to support and troubleshoot Apple hardware (Mac and iOS) for a distributed workforce.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of proactive employee support and clear expectation-setting under pressure.
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams independently in a sprint-based environment, without reliance on day-to-day management oversight.
- Background at pre-IPO tech companies with in-house IT departments managing a SaaS software stack.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Zero Trust network architecture, endpoint security strategy, or Identity Governance Automation.
- Prior exposure to office build-outs or IT infrastructure coordination for a physical office move.
- Familiarity with data analysis and generative AI for operational reporting or executive summaries.
Benefits:
- Compensation - Competitive salary and meaningful equity in a fast-growing company.
- Healthcare - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and dependents.
- Paid Time Off - Unlimited and flexible vacation policy.
- Paid Family Leave - We support work/life balance and offer generous paid parental and new child bonding leave.
- Mandatory Self-Care Days - A day set aside each month to allow employees to recharge.
- Remote Wellbeing Resources - We provide recurring fitness classes, meditation/mindfulness tools, virtual therapy, and family planning assistance.
- Learning - We encourage continued education and will help cover the cost of management training, conferences, workshops, or certifications.
