Hove Village Day Nurseries is looking for an experienced chef to work 40 hours a week. Working hours are shifts between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday (no evenings or weekends, other than for special events such as open evenings). To start as soon as possible.
You will create delicious and healthy meals for our children. You should be an experienced chef (you do not necessarily have to have worked in a school or nursery setting) who is willing and able to demonstrate creative flair – we want our children to say wow! when their meals are served – we are not looking for someone to just create run‑of‑the‑mill dishes. Our children enjoy exploring new flavours and food from around the world and we want to inspire a lifelong love of food with our menu and promote healthy eating. This is an exciting, rewarding and very special role and you will join a passionate team of exceptional people.

Role Expectations And Requirements
You will have to have an excellent knowledge of catering for allergies and a range of food tolerances, as well as adhering to strict dietary requirements. You will help to maintain a clean and hygienic catering facility and follow all relevant guidelines and policies. As well as being responsible for preparing and serving nutritionally balanced healthy meals and snacks, you will be solely responsible for ensuring that we meet and exceed Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations related to all things connected with food at the nursery. We are proud to already hold a 5‑star Food Safety rating, which you must ensure is sustained. You will create exciting, varied menus, taking advantage of seasonally available fresh produce. You will also build and maintain relationships with key suppliers in order to procure quality produce (locally sourced wherever possible). You must be able to keep accurate stock records and will manage ordering of supplies and produce.
