Hove Village Day Nursery Ltd. is a group of unique day nurseries where creativity is at the centre of an inspiring childcare offering. We are looking for two additional Housekeepers to join our growing team and work in our Bloomsbury Street setting. The successful candidates will work 10am to 7pm. The role of a Housekeeper is to maintain a clean, tidy and safe nursery, supporting the Nursery Team in ensuring all children can play, develop and learn safely.

Duties:

  • Cleaning all classrooms, communal areas and offices
  • Ensuring all rooms, including bathrooms and changing areas have all required resources, such as paper towels, soap, nappies etc.
  • Maintaining the stock room, including regular stocktaking
  • Ordering supplies
  • Keeping a cleaning schedule
  • Managing recycling and refuse, including monitoring collection
  • Cleaning of all surfaces, windows and equipment
  • Ensuring all areas such as reception and common areas are kept clean and tidy
  • Assisting with clearing up after lunches
  • Providing a safe and nurturing environment for children in the nursery
  • Following Health and Safety procedures to ensure the well-being of all children

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of cleaning/housekeeping in a nursery/daycare/school setting
  • Knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety practices in a nursery/daycare/school setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in providing a safe, clean environment for children
